Directional Movement:
An appearance of movement that is meant to keep the observer's eye on the piece. It's meant to catch the eye and to keep the eyes following a path.
Proportion/Scale:
This is the relationship between the size of an object in proportion to the human body.
The even distribution of objects in a piece that make a piece more pleasing to the eyes.
Unity:
This is how well different elements work together in a piece.
This is when similar elements are used throughout the whole piece. It makes the image seem more put together and less complicated.
Contrast:
When two opposite elements are put together in a piece to make the artwork more exciting and interesting.
Emphasis:
The focal point or attention catching part of a piece that draws the observer's attention.
